Our Mission
The mission of the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. (MCPA), a
professional association, is to facilitate the promotion and advancement of
crime prevention information and activities in the state of Maryland. The MCPA organization
is committed
to effective and efficient crime prevention programming throughout Maryland.
MCPA is a collaboration of crime prevention practitioners and interested
citizens throughout the
State of Maryland. Our members include police, sheriff, correctional, security
professionals, business people and community leaders, as well as interested
citizens and crime prevention supporters from across our state.

- Opportunities for members to become leaders in crime prevention and
express views and needs on key issues that impact crime prevention.
- Forums for exchanging ideas and sharing information on crime prevention
philosophy, methods, funding, legislation, community outreach and other
topics.
- Support of and sponsorship of high quality training and educational programs.
- Assistance to the Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute (MCCPI)
in conjunction with existing crime prevention programs to establish Maryland
as a leader among states in the implementation of prevention activities.
- Opportunities to serve on the Board of Directors to plan quality and
relevant training programs and guide the future of MCPA.
- Opportunities to earn in-service credits.
