Bruce Lohr
Second Vice President

Biography

Bruce Lohr is a Crime Prevention Specialist for the Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute. Prior to this Bruce spent 25 years with the Howard County Police Department, retiring as a Corporal in 2002. During his career, Bruce held positions in patrol, the Youth Services Section, and the Crime Prevention Section. His special duties included those of a Crime Prevention Specialist, Recruiter, Intoximeter Operator, Maryland Police Training Commission Instructor, Command Post Operator, Field Training Officer, and a DARE / GREAT Instructor.

Bruce has been the recipient of the Governor’s Citation of Valor, the Maryland State Police Certificate of Valor, the Bronze medal, three Governor’s Awards for Crime Prevention, and was the Howard County Police Department Officer of the Year in 1992.

Bruce currently conducts training for law enforcement officers, community groups, businesses, schools, anyone who requests Crime Prevention training. Bruce is also a Gang Instructor for MPCTC. Bruce was the 2007 Employee of the Year for the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions and a MPCTC Instructor of the Year in 2011. Bruce continues to interact and train with fellow Crime Prevention practitioners to provide up to date Crime Prevention information.
