Election of Officers 2012-2014

In accordance with the Constitution of the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. the election of officers will be held at the annual meeting on December 16, 2011.

If you would like to be considered for an elected position with the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. and meet all of the Constitutional requirements below, please submit your name, the name of the nominating member and the elected position you wish to be considered for to:

The following election requirements must be met prior to the election to be eligible to hold an elected office with the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc.

1. Candidate must be a member in good standing with the Maryland Crime Prevention Association Inc. for at least one full year prior to the election and
2. Have held a current or prior elected or appointed position for a minimum of one year and
3. Be nominated by a current member in good standing

Your candidacy request must be received by the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. no later than December 12, 2011 at 9 A.m. to be eligible to be placed on the election ballet. All interested candidates who fail to meet the December 12, 2011 9 A.m. deadline will be disqualified from the election process and unable to be eligible for the election.
 

Elected Positions

PRESIDENT

The President shall preside over all regular and special meetings of the Association. The President shall appoint members of all standing committees and any other committees as the need may arise. The President shall perform such duties as the Association may require in the conduct of its business. The President shall preside at all Executive Board meetings.

 First Vice- PRESIDENT

The First Vice-President shall in the absence of the President perform the duties of the President.  In the event that the office of the President becomes vacant, the First Vice President shall assume said office for the remainder of the President’s term.  The remaining Vice-Presidents shall rise in office one (1) place and perform the duties of their new office.  The Executive Board shall then fill the open Third Vice-President’s position. 

The First Vice-President shall serve as Chairperson of the Nominating Committee and shall assist the President in any technical capacity as designated or required by the President, and shall act in the absence of the President.

 Second Vice- PRESIDENT

The Second Vice-President shall serve as Chairperson of the Membership Committee, and shall maintain a current list of all honorary members as well as a current list of members in all classes, and shall assist the President as designated or required. 

Third Vice- PRESIDENT

The Third Vice-President shall serve as Chairperson of the Ways and Means Committee and shall assist the President as designated or required.

TREASURER

The Treasurer shall be the custodian of all funds of the Association and shall keep a complete and accurate record of all funds received and disbursed.  The Treasurer shall present a complete financial report at all Executive Board and membership meetings.  It shall be the responsibility of the Treasurer to arrange an annual audit of the Association’s financial records.
