What's New At MCPA!
|
The
Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc is granted 501 (c) (3) Status from
the Federal Government.
As mentioned in our last “What’s New at MCPA” we were moving forward to change
our Federal status from a 501 (c) (4) to a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit to better
accommodate our financial supporters with full tax credit for their generous
donations. Today, we are very pleased to announce that we have successfully
obtained our new 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit status.
Becoming a complete Non-Profit 501 (c) (3) organization will open many new doors
for the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. in our quest to keep
Maryland a safer place to live, work and raise a family.
Like 2008, 2009 continues to be a year of change for the Maryland Crime
Prevention Association, Inc. Not only did the Association become incorporated on
September 23, 2008, we also secured the trade name of MCPA as ours and ours
alone. Securing the trade name allows the Maryland Crime Prevention Association,
Inc. to advertise and solicit funds under the trade name of MCPA as well as the
Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. Having control of our “trade name”
will keep others from representing themselves as or using MCPA for any other
purpose, than the Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc.
The Maryland Crime Prevention Association, Inc. held their election of Officers
on December 16, 2008. The following candidates were elected to their respected
office for a period of three years:
President Ronald B.
Schwartz
First Vice President Paul Ciepiela
Second Vice President Gary Hofmann
Third Vice President Bruce Lohr
Treasurer Melody Ciepiela
Each elected officer will serve in their respective office till 2012.
MCPA will be holding its annual conference in Ocean City Maryland the week of
October 12th 2009 and provide a well rounded informational platform to all who
attended. For additional conference information or if you would like to register
to attend please go to our web site and click on the "2009 Conference" link.
If you were unable to attend last years conference and would like to see what
you missed go to the 2009 annual conference link on our web page
http://www.mdcrimeprevention.org/Conference08.htm and also review the
feedback and evaluations
received by attendees.
2008 was a year that provided many training opportunities for our members and
guests and we hope that you had an opportunity to take advantage of each one.
However, 2009 is gearing up to be even better with great and timely training
topics and winding up with our annual conference that promises to be even better
then last years.
MCPA is proud of the accomplishments, training sessions and our annual
conference that we were able to provide to our membership during last year. But,
let’s keep looking into the future by continuing our progress as we move to
re-design MCPA for the betterment of all.
Let’s make 2009 even stronger by increasing our membership and letting everyone
know how they and their organization can benefit by becoming members.
Remember to always, stay safe, stay involved, and move forward. |
